Generous With Your Worship (Freedom Devotional)

Dad Playing Guitar to Baby

"Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!" (Matthew 7:9-11)

"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, he does not change like shifting shadows." (James 1:17)

As we wrap up our Generosity series, I've been reminded of how generous God is. Yes, we are called to generosity - our grace, thanks, time, money and lives are to be given freely to God. But what we've been reminded of these past few weeks is that our giving is simply a recognition of and response to our incredibly generous Father God.

In light of that, I asked P. Del if I my Fathers Day message could be an addition to the Generosity series. I love that so many of the men at our church imitate the generosity of their Heavenly Father. They really do. And taking it one step further, on Sunday we're going to talk about men being generous with their worship and why it matters to the rest of us.

I'm looking forward to celebrating and honouring fathers with you on Sunday!

See you then,

P. Tracy
